The Health Counts 2024 Survey launched across 呦乐园 and Hove on 18 March 2024, providing residents with a once-in-a-decade opportunity to help shape public health policy and planning in the city.

Keen to capture a full picture of 呦乐园 and Hove residents, the research team behind the survey, led by the University of 呦乐园, have worked to try and reach as wide a demographic as possible. Working closely with NHS Sussex, every person in the city registered with a GP should now have received a text alert from their practice inviting them to take part in the survey. In addition, a coordinated campaign and range of outreach activities have been conducted to reach those without access to digital devices, the internet, or in need of support to complete the survey.

Professor Nigel Sherriff from the University of 呦乐园 said: “We’ve seen an incredible response so far, with over 28,000 呦乐园 and Hove residents taking part. However, participation from those in the 18-34 age groups is low, and it’s really important that this age demographic be represented in the research we’re doing.

What we need now is for residents, particularly in this age group, to take part in the survey. So, if you have a family member, friend, or colleague aged between 18 and 34 years old, please encourage them to take part in the survey. It’ll make a huge difference to the recommendations that will follow this work.”

The Health Counts 2024 survey has been commissioned by the Public Health team at 呦乐园 and Hove City Council, led by the University of 呦乐园, in partnership with NHS Sussex, Healthwatch, and the 呦乐园 and Sussex Medical School.
